Free Realtime Strategy (RTS) Videogames
Mood:  cool
Now Playing: A bit of everything
Topic: videogames

In this article, I want to make a brief description of some FREE Realtime Strategy (RTS) videogames out there. These videogames are Stratagus based so i'll cover these:

* Astroseries RTS *

Astroseries is a very regular RTS. Graphics and sounds are nothing special, and at points, it borders on extreme simplicity. However, it seems to have a good plot and pretty good campaigns (some have mentioned its campaigns are longer than the average commercial game of this type), and the action is terrific. If you don't mind graphics or sounds too much, but instead want some serious action, you will probably love this one. They are also making shoot-em-up type of episodes for the Flash plugin.

* Battle for Mandicor *

This RTS is set in a medieval era. Graphics and sounds are nothing special, but it seems to be very entertaining. People who love medieval stuff, such as swordsmans, orcs, elfs, etc, will most likely appreciate this one.

* Battle of Survival *

This RTS is quite good, specially at graphics and sounds. Looks very professional and I recommend it to anyone looking forward to playing a free RTS. However, its campaigns are not very interesting.

* Magnant *

Magnant is a RTS where you play as a society/army made up of ants. In this sense it is quite interesting, but unfortunately, it is unfinished.
